Is This You?
Who can Joni Bentley training really help?

Although the circumstances may change, the struggles riders are going through are remarkably similar.

See if any of these sound familiar to you:

  • You are experienced in riding doing it "the regular way." You may be a horse owner, you may be a weekend rider at your local riding centre. You can make the positional adjustments required of you and  ride the school movements, but it all feels very, "samey" impersonal and uncomfortable. Your connection with the horse seems to have got lost. You are just doing riding, but you don't really understand the mechanics of it and feel there must be more.

  • You are great, probably masterful, at what you do. You are a competition  rider, trainer, or a yard owner. What gets lost is how to make the business work while honouring  the personality and wellbeing of your horses and clients, and still pay the bills.

  • You are exhausted by your yard duties. You find yourself making up feeds, filling hay nets, mucking out, sorting rugs, battling the mud, and not having the  time to stop and just enjoy being with your horse? You love caring for your horse but your heart longs for quality riding time together.

  • You've been doing okay in your riding, but you're tired of just "okay." You've watched other similar riders improve faster than you, and you wonder if you can ever "get over the hump" into real momentum. You'd love to feel what it's like to really fly with your horse.

  • You feel like the oddball of your yard. Everyone likes you on the yard, but because of your deep empathy for horses you sometimes feel like a Martian, and don't know how to be yourself without appearing too soft.

  • You've had success, maybe even a lot of it, and now it's time for what's next. Successful riders get to a certain level because of knowledge and strategies that work. But, you suspect it's time to go into the unknown, and delve deeper into the bio mechanics of your own and your horse's body, but you don't know how to go about it.

No matter which of these situations you find yourself in, I can help you.

So, what is possible for you?
After delivering thousands of  classes, seminars and private sessions, I have seen that although each rider and  industry has its unique challenges, there are common patterns that transcend the details, and I can help you to nourish the relationship between you and your horse and  achieve natural stress free excellence.

But will it work for you?
It will, if you have these values:

  • Partnership. What really inspires you in riding is the desire to make a difference for your horse.

  • You are unique. And you know that uniqueness trumps competition- meaning that each rider and horse has a unique gift, there is plenty for everyone, and so brutal competition doesn't have to exist.

  • You want to be excellent. You have the desire and willingness to be masterful at what you do- to continue growing, learning, and applying.

  • You know there is more to life than you can see. You know, or at least suspect, that reality is more than just the physical. You believe, or have some experience or understanding that their is a greater force.

  • Willing to get help. You know that the best way to help your horse, is to make sure that you have adequate help yourself when and where you need it.

  • You are willing to invest in your riding. For your horse to believe in you, you have to believe in you, and you know that the right investments are what nourish your self development.

Hi Joni, just thought I would let you know we had a very interesting session after our mounted clinic with you. Both Andy my trainer as you know rode on your clinic and myself found it very enlightening. We were both very surprised and convinced by what we saw. Andy  could see the  difference in Ginella was  remarkable.   The canter was very much better, strike offs correct on both sides and I particularly felt a difference in the left canter when she went around the short side of the arena, I really felt it engage. The biggest difference though, and the one that amazes me most is the difference in the way she is carrying her head. Previously, she held it very high and tight back into the wither, with her nose tucked in like a lot of Iberians do. I always found it very difficult to get her to stretch forwards and down. The other problem we had previous to your clinic was that she was always tossing her head, particularly towards the end of the session as she got more tired. Now, after about 2 or 3 minutes in trot, she is seeking the rein downward, and in the canter she almost had her head on the floor at some points, which was marvellous. I also felt that the canter, although still nice and forward was rather less of a romp along and I felt a bit more in control of it today. The other thing is that she did not toss her head once, and has not done so since Sunday. Andy was actually very impressed by the difference, and he got on Ginella for a quick go so I could see how she looks from behind. By this time of course she had actually straightened up considerably so he didn't have too much work to do on her. He has said that he is very interested in learning more about your training method.
