Do you suffer from mental or physical
tension while horse riding? Is your horse making it impossible for you to sit straight while riding? Are you training or laming your horse during horse schooling? Are your feelings reliable when you ride your horse? Which brings me to the serious question: Are horse riders armed with sufficient anatomical knowledge and awareness to ensure they train their horse without pain or blame? I have spent the last 26 years seeking out what I consider to be the most effective training tools for horse riders available today in order to synchronize: 1. Schooling the rider into straightness. 2. The biomechanics of equine straightness. 3. Ergonomic saddle fitting which allows for asymmetry in horse and rider. We all deserve success during horse riding and it is my quest to help horse riders achieve natural stress free, excellence and happiness as they journey together with their horse. The Bentley horse and rider training technique incorporates:
Alexander technique:
The Alexander Technique is the
most advanced tool we have today to give us a
deep-rooted understanding of mind/body awareness and
posture. Joni Bentley's biomechanical riding system coupled
with the Alexander Technique and NLP, allows her to
train horse and rider from their individual bones and
muscles avoiding RSI and lameness.
Biomechanical riding: When your horse is able to move with comfort and ease in their saddle, you are free and able to enjoying learning classical horsemanship.

It has resolved so many issues for me in an uncanny “magic wand” kind of way. It gives the most careful consideration to all the different factors involved in crookedness, it then shows you through simple exercises how by “unfixing” rather than “fixing” horse and rider, crookedness gradually crystallizes out more and more up to a point where it dissolves and solves itself.” Andy Ford Event trainer Kent UK ![]() "Joni was incredibly intuitive and catered for all the different levels, and learning styles, of the people on the workshop. I myself found that subtle art of feel between my horse and myself ,and found that within an hour we had both changed beyond recognition." Sibyl de Jager Antwerp Belgium |
